TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (2FA)

A more secure login process is on the way!

Always striving to optimise investor experience, we are going to upgrade our eTrading login process by phases in 1Q 2018 to enhance security for your online investments. We will inform you by email when the security upgrade for your eTrading login is about to take place.

What is the upgrade about?

Two-factor authentication (2FA), combined with our existing security measures, provides you with an additional layer of defence to further mitigate the risk of an unauthorised person getting illegal access to your eTrading account, so that you can make online transactions with greater peace of mind.

Besides the implementation of 2FA, we will also send you email notifications for successful logins.
Please contact us immediately in case of any suspicious situations.

*One-Time Passcode (OTP): Valid for only one time, it provides an additional layer of defence for your online investments. The OTP will be sent to your registered phone number or email address. For voice messages, you will receive the OTP from an overseas number. Please do not forward or disclose your OTP to others.

Are you ready for the upgrade?

To ensure that you can log in to your eTrading account after the security upgrade, please review your phone number(s) (including the country code) and email address in our record as soon as possible and update your contact information where necessary.

Why do I need to update my personal information?

After the security upgrade, you will have to enter a One-Time Passcode, in addition to your Username and Login Password, to complete the login process.

The required passcode will be sent to you by phone or email according to your contact information held in our record. Therefore, any incorrect or outdated personal information may cause delays or possible rejection of access to your eTrading account.

How to update your contact information?

Method 1 > Update via the eTrading platform
Step 1:
Login to your eTrading Account
Step 2:
Click "My Account" > "My Personal Details"
Step 3:
Review your phone number(s) (including the country code) and email address and update your contact information where necessary

Method 2 > Fill in and return the “MasterAccount Amendment Form”
You can download the MasterAccount Amendment Form online and return the form to us by fax or mail after completion.

What are the benefits?

2FA requires you to log in to your account with your Login Password and a One-Time Passcode, providing more comprehensive security measures for your online investments. While fraudsters may obtain your Username and Login Password in different ways, it is hard for them to also receive the One-Time Passcode by phone/email to get access to your eTrading account.

Resetting your password has become easier – it can be done via our eTrading platform with 2FA anytime, anywhere.

Only one password
to remember

With 2FA, making online transactions is simpler, yet safer. The existing Verification PIN will be deactivated and replaced by the Login Password, which means that you will only need to re-enter the same Login Password to confirm your instructions for online orders, ranging from buying or switching funds to setting up regular investment orders using the eScheduler.
